Internal and external changing in policies on global peacekeeping missions creates problems for the preparation of standby forces, especially in Indonesia. The purpose of this research is to analyze the obstacles in realizing the strategy of preparing the TNI's standby force in supporting the peacekeeping operations and analyzing the strategies carried out by the TNI in preparing the standby force through pre-deployment training. The research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative method. The results of the research related to obstacles in realizing the strategy of preparing the TNI's standby force in supporting peacekeeping operations include budget constraints from internal and external sources, unoptimized facilities and infrastructure, limited personnel capabilities and shifting the place where pre-deployment training is carried out which was originally at PMPP TNI transferred to the main body unit that will depart for duty, limited personnel capabilities also hamper the implementation of the TNI's main tasks. Strategy as part of the ways with pre-deployment training to improve means, namely the ability of personnel to standby operations and policies and rules from the UN, for ends is the mission of maintaining for world peace according to the UN mandate in line with the realization of Indonesia's national interests to participate in maintaining world peaceReferences
