MODEL KEPEMIMPINAN MILITER DIGITAL DI ERA REVOLUSI INDUSTRI 4.0
Abstract
Industry 4.0 stands for 'the fourth industrial revolution' and is a term that refers to the rapid transformation in design, production, implementation, operation and service of manufacturing systems, products, and components. Significant transformations occurred related to how to produce products caused by digitalization of manufacturing. This transition is so convincing that it is called Industry 4.0 to represent the fourth revolution that has taken place in manufacturing. From the first industrial revolution (mechanization through hydropower and steam) to mass production and electric assembly lines in the second revolution, the fourth industrial revolution will take what starts in the third with the adoption of computers and automation and enhance it with intelligent and autonomous systems driven by data and machine learning. Globalization in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era also caused revolutionary in military affairs (RMA) which had implications for changes in war strategy, combat tactics and leadership in the military world. This study aims to address the military leadership style that is influenced by the rapid technological development of the industrial revolution 4.0 by changing the traditional military leadership style into digital military leadership. A digital military leader has the ability to inspire members to innovate and defend ideas. Sharpness in applying digital military leadership benchmarks shows a fast, cross-hierarchical, cooperative, and team-oriented approach that often integrates innovation. This paper uses a descriptive qualitative approach as the primary writing approach, and uses digital leadership theory by Christina Boesenberg, a leadership consultant at Oxford Leadership Global Leadership Consultants. The results of this study are: the success of digital military leadership in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 is supported by seven characteristics of digital military leaders, including: responsibility, results, information distribution, goals and judgments, mistakes and conflicts, change,
and innovation.
