Abstract

As heavy equipment used to lift and transport materials to significant heights, tower cranes play a vital role in ensuring efficiency and safety on construction sites[2]. Therefore, the inspection and testing of lifting and transporting aircraft such as tower cranes is an important aspect of risk management and machine maintenance[3]. Routine inspections of tower cranes are carried out to ensure that all components are functioning properly and in accordance with applicable safety standards[4]. This activity takes technical data and history of use of lifting and transporting aircraft in the work area to assess the feasibility and safety factors. Inspection and testing procedures are carried out in several steps, including the use of guidelines in the form of a standard checklist form and then document inspection; physical and dimensional visual inspection; and load and function testing. Steel wire rope is safe to use for tower crane structures at a radius of 60 meters with a lifting capability of 2.4 tons. There was no drop in the hoist motor during the static load test. There is a modification to the hook used to replace the safety latch by welding on the body of the hook. SIO Operator meets class I requirements with a tower height of ± 70 meters.
