SIMULASI KINERJA BAJA ARMOR DALAM MENAHAN RADIASI GAMMA DAN NEUTRON SEBAGAI MATERIAL KENDARAAN TEMPUR
Abstract
Ancaman radiasi akibat pengembangan senjata nuklir dan penyalahgunaan bahan radioaktif telah meningkat dan semakin nyata. TNI yang bertugas menjaga pertahanan dan keamanan negara menjadi garda terdepan yang berhadapan langsung dengan ancaman tersebut. Kendaraan tempur memiliki peran vital dalam menjaga personil TNI dari ancaman radiasi di area operasi, maka dari itu perlu diketahui bagaimana kemampuan material kendaraan tempur dalam menghadapi ancaman tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis karakteristik material baja armor dalam menahan radiasi gamma dan neutron. Penelitian dilakukan dengan simulasi menggunakan software bebasis Monte Carlo. Simulasi dilakukan menggunakan dua sumber radiasi pengion yaitu gamma dan neutron dalam rentang energi 0,01-100 MeV. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa baja armor memiliki nilai koefisien atenuasi massa terhadap paparan radiasi gamma yang lebih besar dibandingkan radiasi neutron. Pada rentang energi 1-10 MeV, nilai koefisien atenuasi massa (?m) baja armor terhadap paparan radiasi gamma dan neutron menunjukkan hasil yang fluktuatif dan berada pada rentang 0.3-0.023 cm2/g untuk radiasi gamma dan 0.020-0.014 cm2/g untuk radiasi neutron. Pada rentang energi 20-100 MeV, nilai ?m radiasi gamma berada pada rentang 0.025-0.020 cm2/g dan nilai ?m untuk radiasi neutron adalah 0.014-0.005 cm2/gReferences
