DETEKSI NILAI HAMBUR BALIK DASAR PERAIRAN TELUK PALU MENGGUNAKAN MULTIBEAM ECHOSOUNDER DAN PEMANFAATANNYA DALAM PERTAHANAN BAWAH PERMUKAAN

Setiap negara memiliki kebutuhan untuk mempertahankan dan menjaga kedaulatannya dari ancaman negara lain. Multibeam echosounder merupakan instrumen akustik untuk pemetaan dasar perairan yang menghasilkan data kedalaman dan data nilai hambur balik (backscatter). Analisis terhadap nilai hambur balik dapat menentukan jenis sedimen yang dapat digambarkan pada peta spasial dan menentukan lokasi daerah duduk, bersembunyinya dan area terlarang kapal selam. Perairan Teluk Palu sangat strategis dikarenakan masuk dalam kawasan ALKI II. Metode yang digunakan dalam analisis hamburan balik yaitu metode Angular Range Analysis dan Sediment Analysis Tools (ARA&SAT) dimana hubungan hamburan balik dengan ukuran butir sangat erat. Nilai hamburan balik yang didapatkan dengan tipe sedimen batu memiliki nilai antara -11 sampai -13 dB, untuk pasir memiliki nilai hamburan balik -14 sampai -29 dB, lanau nilai hamburan baliknya -30 sampai -39 dB dan lempung nilai hamburan baliknya -40 sampai -49 dB. Area yang tidak dapat diduduki kapal selam dilihat dari jenis sedimen yaitu lanau dan lempung.Referensi
