PENGARUH PEMANASAN TERHADAP MECHANICAL PROPERTIES KOMPONEN KOMPOSIT FABRIC PLAIN WEAVE PADA PESAWAT TERBANG TANPA AWAK MEDIUM ALTITUDE LONG ENDURANCE ELANG HITAM

Spesimen komposit fabric plain weave disekitar engine PTTA MALE Elang Hitam terpapar panas pada temperatur tinggi (>100°C) dengan jangka waktu lama (mencapai 30 jam). Paparan pemanasan tersebut mempengaruhi sfat mekanik dari komponen yang berada disekitar area engine. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pemanasan terhadap mechanical properties spesimen komposit fabric woven plain weave pada PTTA MALE Elang Hitam buatan PTDI. Spesimen komposit fabric plain weave yang digunakan berbasis material carbon fiber-epoxy dibuat menggunakan metode hand lay-up dan melalui proses curing cycle menggunakan autoclave. Simulasi pemanasan dilakukan pada temperatur 125°C selama 24 dan 48 jam. Mechanical properties dari spesimen tersebut dianalisis berdasarkan hasil pengujian tensile, compression, in-plane shear, dan short-beam strength sesuai standar ASTM. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan nilai tensile stress meningkat sebesar 15% terjadi setelah spesimen dipanaskan selama 48 jam. Hal tersebut disebabkan karena adanya peningkatan densitas spesimen karena pengaruh pemanasan. Nilai compressive strength pada spesimen tanpa pemanasan sebesar 584.30 MPa dan turun pada spesimen A, yaitu menjadi 447.59 MPa. Penurunan kekuatan spesimen disebabkan adanya penurunan crosslink dalam polimer resin yang digunakan. Hasil pengujian in-plane shear menunjukkan hasil kerusakan bentuk patahan yang terjadi pada spesimen A dan B, didukung dengan grafik pengujian yang tidak mengalami pertambahan panjang setelah mencapai pembebanan maksimal. Hal tersebut menunjukkan spesimen A dan B memiliki sifat brittle yang lebih tinggi dibanding spesimen yang tidak dipanaskan.References
