Abstract

Kerjasama Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) di Indonesia dimulai pada tahun 2018 ketika Indonesia menandatangani MoU BRI dengan negara China. Kerjasama BRI yang berasal dari negara China telah mendapat banyak kritik atas jebakan hutang (debt trap) dan menjadi sebuah polemik dalam kerjasama ekonomi internasional. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah mengenai bagaimana kerjasama BRI dapat menajdi ancaman bagi Indonesia serta bagaimana strategi pertahanan negara Indonesia untuk mengantisipasi ancaman tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis kerja sama BRI oleh negara China yang dapat menjadi ancaman asimetris dalam kerjasama BRI ini serta menganalisis strategi pertahanan negara Indonesia dalam menghadapi ancaman tersebut. Metode dan desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis desktriptif. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah dampak dari ancaman yang terdapat dalam kerja sama BRI bukan hanya pada bidang ekonomi namun juga pada sektor pertahanan. Dibutuhkan strategi yang mampu menangkal ancaman tersebut, dan pemerintah Indonesia harus memperhatikan contingency plan jika terjadi worst case dalam pelaksanaan kerja sama ini. Peneliti memberikan rekomendasi yaitu diperlukan adanya pengawasan dalam pelaksanaan kerja sama BRI di Indonesia, serta pengkajian ulang mengenai kerja sama ekonomi internasional.
